Who are we? What is our Purpose?
"Unfortunately, public funding is no longer sufficient to guarantee the educational facilities and programs that will enable our children to achieve academic, athletic, and artistic excellence. Unless we all step forward to address this challenge with our time and our resources, our children may not reach their full potential. The Oak Ridge High School Community Foundation is our opportunity."
Our Mission is to support and enhance Oak Ridge High School and the El Dorado Hills Community by promoting interscholastic, academic, and cultural programs as well as capital improvements that promote continual learning.
The reason for our existence
Oak Ridge is recognized as one of the top 70 high schools in the state. Yet, the campus and facilities do not reflect the success and performance of the community.
Five years ago, a group of concerned parents, community and school officials formed the Oak Ridge High School Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization,dedicated to student success through vision and community support of the school. The goal of this not-for-profit organization is to provide the community support and funding needed to make the school's vision and mission a reality.
Our Goals through the Foundation
I. Increast awareness of the Foundation and it's mission
~ Revise the existing marketing and public relations campaign
~ Establish relationships with the Community and parent groups
~ Install acknowledgement plaques at all Foundation project sites
~ Develop and distribute donor acknowledgement letter
~ Foster Alumni Relationships
II. Indentify and prioritize short and long term facility needs
~ Flag Pole Project
~ New York Creek Outdoor Education Classroom Analysis Project
~ Traffic control Analysis Project
~ Field House
III. Collaborate with District Board of Directors and Staff on selection and planning of Facilities Master Plan Projects (Measure Q)
~ Concessions Facility
~ Stadium Restroom Facility
~ Additional Synthetic Field Improvements
IV. Increase Foundation donations by hosting Fundraiser Events
~ Annual Winter Crab Feed
~ Annual Fall Golf Tournament
~ E-Green Donation Days (EWASTE)
V. Creating language in the Bylaws to annually fund the Endowment Fund.
VI. Create an Annual Scholarship Award Programs
VII. Create and Annual Teacher Grant Program
